This 200 x Household “Hot Water Draw-off Research” program is a world first. It’s hard to believe but it is true! 

Choosing to be a part of this project, you are making a difference to better and more efficient design of hot water delivery systems for Australians and New Zealanders living in a range of climate zone.

Why is this important?

Water Heaters use more energy than any other domestic appliance in a typical home. Understanding  domestic hot water usage patterns in households across Australia and New Zealand will be invaluable to State and Federal Governments in Australian and New Zealand in developing strategies and initiatives to help households reduce their energy consumption, and save on utility costs.

Having joined, there are 2 steps each Household needs to complete:

1.     Upload photos of your hot water system. Thank you to those who have already completed this step. If you have not already done so, please click here.

2.     Complete the easy to follow Survey: See below for details.

In appreciation of your participation you will be receiving a $50 gift in the form of Bunnings or Woolworths Gift Card, or a cash transfer. These will be issued once the monitoring equipment has been installed.

This will take place once all Households have had their monitoring equipment installed and commissioned (we estimate September 2020), there will be a draw to win 1 of 3 x $1,000 cash prizes. 

Good News:

Despite border closures and delays to shipping, the first 30 German made Ultrasonic thermal energy hot water “Sharky” meters have arrived. We anticipate the balance to hit Australian shores shortly.  Canberra Households  will be the first to have their “smart meters” installed during July.

For the remainder of Australia and New Zealand, We are expecting to commence installation around August.

Survey:

You should receive the final survey questionnaire in your inbox/SMS next week. We are here to help; if you would prefer us to do this over the phone with you, we are more than happy to do that..
